Prelude
Orchestra |

The
MCMC Prelude Orchestra is our beginning string orchestra with
piano and harp. Most members are in Grades 3 - 6. This orchestra
performs twice a year, in November and May as part of an MCYO
concert. There are additional community performances arranged
throughout the year. No audition
is required. |

| Rehearsals |
| Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
at The Lakeside Legacy Building (Dole Mansion) 401 Country Club Rd,
Conservatory B in Crystal Lake. Refer to the Activity Calendar
for more details.

Profile |
Janet
Kvam-Holub was appointed conductor of the Prelude Orchestra in
January 1999. She holds the bachelor's degree from Stephens
College in Columbia MO, the master's degree from the University of
Michigan (Ann Arbor) and the doctorate from University of Missouri
(Kansas City). She has taught in colleges and public schools in
both South Dakota and Missouri. She teaches violin privately for
MCMC and at Dundee-Crown High School. Janet is a substitute for
the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and plays is various chamber music
groups in the area.

Fall, the Prelude Orchestra musicians attend a portion of the
Orchestra Overnight, held at beautiful Conference Point, at
William's Bay, Wisconsin. There is plenty of rehearsal time and
musical fun and games.
